Laziness

Composing/organizing thoughts in one's head is a lot easier than composing/organizing them on paper computer monitor.

It's been a while since my last post. I've found that writing things that I care about and that other people will be reading (no matter how small in number) is well, time consuming. My friend and I had an IM conversation tonight about the state of our blogging laziness. We both started our blogs a couple months ago, and I think we've probably spent more time discussing our ideas than actually writing them so tonight we decided to make a pact in hopes of lifting our lazy fingers from our keyboards to our....keyboards....productively.

The pact is as follows:

  • We will each publish two blog posts before 9:00 AM of every Monday.
  • If one of us fails to do so, we owe the other $5.00.
  • There are no limitations/restrictions to posts. They can be an image, a video, two lines of text or two thousand lines of text - anything goes.
We decided to start it tonight with a published post due by 9:00 AM, September 27, and this is mine (my friend has already published his and has already taunted me about getting mine published). I think our "arrangement" is a good idea for a few reasons.

  • It sets up a realistic goal/schedule for something that I've been putting off.
  • I think it will loosen up my writing - I've tended to procrastinate as a result of wanting every post to be just right.
  • I like to think of it as an opportunity to buy a friend a cheap lunch every once in a while.
That wasn't so hard. Second post to be published before next Monday....I hope.

That is an awesome picture. Good post, very well written despite being rushed to meet the deadline... :)

The trick is to do it at work, when you just can't stand to look at your work anymore. I like to write stuff in Outlook so it just looks like I'm writing an email. It gets your brain on something else for a second and gives you a chance to vent. If you haven't discovered Google Analytics you should check it out, but careful, it's addictive.

Yeah, Google Analytics is fun but it would be more valuable if I had more hits/day.

You just need to mention more names of hot chicks in your posts. Here, I'll help: Kim Kardashian. That should be worth a couple hits.

Ha. Thanks.
